Summer Enrichment Program

Parents, Guardians, and Students: Due to the impact that the COVID-19 situation has had on schools and learning in general, MDE has asked each school district in Mississippi to ensure that there is a summer enrichment program and learning-at-home plan in place to assist in lessening the disruption caused by the Spring 2020 school closures.

To help with this, the Pontotoc County School District will distribute summer enrichment learning packets on May 29th, from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. at North Pontotoc, North Pontotoc Upper, and South Pontotoc. These packets will not only include learning activities, but also information related to free reading materials and free book resources, as this is a great time to encourage students to read as much as possible.

Please note: PCSD is working diligently to ensure that our students continue to learn and that we are prepared, as much as possible, for what the future may hold in regards to digital learning. To help foster this process, teachers will also be uploading a few instructional videos to our new district YouTube pages. These pages will be live at the first of June, and links to these pages will be shared on our district website and all social media outlets. The videos can be viewed using a computer or a mobile device. We completely understand that not every student/household has access to reliable internet, therefore these videos will be supplemental in nature, and students will still be able to complete the learning packets if they cannot view the videos.

In addition, we will keep you updated as we learn more information about returning to school in the fall and what that may look like. At this time we are still in the planning stages and awaiting more information from the Governor's office and the Mississippi Department of Education in regards to the 2020-2021 academic year.

We will send out another reminder about picking learning packets up a few days before May 29th. Thanks so much for being a caring and supportive community. We miss our students and look forward to seeing them again as soon as possible!
