Early Childhood is a relatively new adventure for Pontotoc Ridge Career and Technology Center. I could not be happier to have a part in the inspiration of students pursuing a career related to the early childhood field. After graduating from the University of Mississippi with a B.A. in Elementary Education, I worked to create Kiddie Academy Learning Center in New Albany, MS. I was the Director of Kiddie Academy Learning Center for thirteen years. Because of this, I am able to bring ‘real world’ experience into the classroom as a standard for learning. I am current President of Northeast Mississippi Early Childhood Association- Professionals Advocating for Children, Board Member for the Mississippi Early Childhood Association, and member of the Southern Early Childhood Association of which I received the 2017 Helen Harley Leadership Award. I believe in the importance of education and especially early childhood education.
