  • Please note: Due to the official ending of the 19-20 Academic Year, weekly lunch distributions will shut down after next Wednesday, May 20th, unless another need arises due to additional factory/workplace shutdowns. PCSD does not offer a summer lunch program, and the official ending of the 19-20 academic year is next Thursday, May 21st. Thanks so much for your support and assistance during this time.

  • Update for PCSD Student Meal Program (lengthy but important post):

    Thanks so much to everyone that helped us distribute food to hundreds of our students this past week. This was our first week and while it went great, we are making a few adjustments to streamline the process. Please read the following information carefully:

    The times will now shift to 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. for all sites unless specifically listed below. All locations from this week will be open on Monday, March 30th, but changes will begin on Tuesday, March 31st.

    Please note the following changes, which will begin on Tuesday, March 31st:

    North Side:

    Cairo Baptist and Friendship Baptist - these sites will be closed. Please go to North Pontotoc Elementary school if you have been going to these sites.

    Hurricane Baptist - this site will be closed. If you have been picking up meals at Hurricane Baptist, please go to the Hurricane Community Center between 10:35 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. A bus will be there between these times with meals.

    South Side:

    Toccopola Community Center - this site will be closed. Please go to Carey Springs Baptist or Thaxton Baptist if you have been going to Toccopola.

    Troy Baptist Church - A van will now stop at Troy Baptist between 12:00 p.m. - 12:15 p.m. Please be at Troy Baptist between this time to pick up a meal.

    Other Remaining Sites:

  • Please note: This post is somewhat lengthy, but contains important information pertaining to lunches/breakfasts for our students during this time.
     
    Beginning Monday, March 23rd, PCSD will distribute drive-thru “grab and go” lunches/breakfast for students 18 and under until further notice. These lunches will be free for students and will include a breakfast for the next morning. Meals will be available at the following locations during the times of 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
     
    North Pontotoc Locations:
     
    Cairo Baptist Church
    Cherry Creek Baptist Church
    Endville Baptist Church
    Friendship Baptist Church
    Hurricane Baptist Church
    North Pontotoc School (Front)
    Sherman Church of Christ
    Thaxton Baptist Church
     
    In addition, two bus routes will deliver food to specific locations in the North area. Each bus will have food at the first location at 10:30, then move to the next location from there. Students will need to be watching and listening for the bus (drivers will honk). These routes are as follows:
     
    Route One Stops (in order): Possom Trot, Swords Lane, Graham Road, Smoketop
     
    Route Two (in order): J. Sewell Cove, Brassfield, Harmony Loop

    ***Please note: We are still awaiting confirmation on one other location and will update asap.
     
    In addition, two bus routes will deliver food to specific locations in the South area. Each bus will have food at the first location at 10:30, then move to the next location from there. Students will need to be watching and listening for the bus (drivers will honk). These routes are as follows:
     
    Route One (in order): Shanda Ridge laundromat, Kizer Trail, Post Oak Dr.
     
    Route Two (in order): Salmon Rd, Evergreen Dr.
     
    Please note: It may take a couple of days to get everything working exactly right, so please know that we will make adjustments as needed. Our main goal is to ensure that no child in our district goes without a breakfast/lunch during this time. If you live in an area where one of the buses is coming through, please try to watch and listen between 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Again, the stop areas are listed in order above.
